Temporary Year 6 class teacher – starting January 2021

The Governing Body of Sedbergh Primary School seeks to appoint a full time Key Stage 2 teacher (M1 – M6), on a 2 term contract from Monday 4th January 2021 until 31st August 2021. This post is temporary as the current Year 6 teacher, our Deputy Headteacher, is stepping up to Acting Headteacher for the period of this appointment.

We are seeking an experienced teacher, with a good understanding of the National Statutory Assessments at the end of Key Stage 2 (SATs). The successful candidate will also have experience of working with a range of children, including those with Special Educational Needs.

Sedbergh Primary School is a lovely, medium sized (NOR 153), primary school based in the town of Sedbergh at the western border of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. We are a vibrant learning community who teach and nurture a group of bright and enthusiastic children. We have a dedicated staff team who work together toward a shared ethos. In addition, there are 3 opportunities to visit the school. In light of the current restrictions in place, applicants must agree to follow our Covid 19 Risk Assessment guidance. This will be emailed to you after you have contacted the school office to arrange the visit. Visits will be after school, when the premises are empty of children and will also be socially distanced. Further details will be contained in the Risk Assessment you receive.

Candidates who elect not to visit the school will not in any way be disadvantaged in the appointment process.
