Year 4 – Residential to York

Dear Parents,

You may be aware, that as part of our curriculum in Year 4 we are arranging an exciting field trip to York to extend the children’s learning. During the two days we will be visiting a variety of educational places including the Yorkshire Museum, DIG, Jorvik, National Railway Museum and an evening ghost walk. This is a great opportunity for children to experience an important, historic City.

This is a two day trip so we will stay at York’s YHA Youth Hostel overnight.   I realise that some children may not have experienced a night away from home before, so if you have any questions or worries please do not hesitate to come and see me.  There will be two adults going with the children in addition to myself.

Date of trip          Thursday 5th and Friday 6th July.

The cost for your child is £95.00 which includes food, the Youth Hostel, coach and entrance to all of the places we will be visiting. If you would prefer to pay in instalments rather than a lump sum you are more than welcome to do so.

Nearer the time I will hold an information meeting and send out further details to you. If in the meantime you have any worries or concerns about the visit, please do not hesitate to come and see me or give me a ring to discuss it.

Yours sincerely,

Matthew Towe
