We have been learning about…
Meeting Santa
All the children enjoyed meeting Santa and receiving a special present at our Christmas PARTY!
The Christmas Enterprise Fair
All the children helped to make lots of products to sell at our Christmas Fair. We made fir cone decorations, dipped marshmallows and candy cane cookies.
The Gruffalo’s Child
Nursery and Reception children have been learning all about the story of ‘The Gruffalo’s Child’. We have used puppets to act it out, created a giant story map and painted pictures of the characters. For our funky fingers activity the children have been busy making characters out of clay.
Autumn
Look at all the fun we have had…
Squiggle Whilst You Wiggle…
This movement programme helps children develop their mark making skills and is lots of fun for the children and staff. Children will be learning letter formation through whole body movements making it easier for them to control and remember letter formation when they come to write.
Armistice day
We learnt about Poppy Day and why we wear poppies at this time of year. We were able to find out more in assembly with Major Pete Holton and Keith Wood from the Royal British Legion. We enjoyed listening to Mr Wood play ‘The Last Post’ and were able to join in with the two minutes silence with the rest of the school. Later on we watched a live Armistice Day service from London. All of the children took part in Poppy Day craft activities, including making their own paper poppies and creating poppy pictures using pastels.
